The female breasts keep changing with age and pregnancy. While most changes in breasts are perfectly normal and aren’t a cause for concern, but some changes like breast pain and lumps need medical attention.

Screening Tests to Detect Breast Cancer

Screening tests are used to find breast cancer before it causes any warning signs or symptoms. They find breast cancer early and so regular screening tests (along with follow-up tests and treatment reduce your chance of dying from breast cancer.

Breast cancer screening tests includes:-

  • Clinical breast exam
  • Mammography
  • Breast MRI

Symptoms Of Breast Cancer

Some of the symptoms and signs of breast cancer include:

  • Change in breast size or shape
  • Lump or area that feels thicker than the rest of the breast
  • Change in skin texture such as puckering or dimpling (like the skin of an orange)
  • Redness or rash on the skin and/or around the nipple
  • The liquid that comes from the nipple without squeezing
  • Pain in the breast or your armpit that keeps persisting
  • Swelling in your armpit or around your collarbone

Treatment

Treatments are designed to remove cancer from the breast and destroy any cancer that might still be in the body.

Treatment includes some combination of:

    • Surgery
    • Radiation therapy
    • Chemotherapy
    • Hormone therapy
    • Targeted therapy
